Where it all started

Praveen Yadav, a front-end developer, experienced a lot of chronic foot pain with regular footwear. The design of most common footwear was unfortunately less than desirable. Eventually, he discovered Birkenstocks, a company renowned for making comfortable leather sandals. Enamoured by its comfort, he ensured his family also experienced the same coziness as he did by also buying them all a pair.

A simple repair changed everything

A few months later, the soles of his Birkenstocks started wearing down. From his former experience in leatherwork, he knew that it was still very much fixable and so began his mini-project of restoring his own pair. The work paid off and his shoes now looked as good as new. He shared his project to his friends and family, who in turn began asking him to do the same for their Birkenstock sandals.

The hobby became a business

What initially began as a favor quickly turned into a repair service. Praveen sought out to research everything regarding leather restoration techniques. He built a website and eventually brought along another experienced cobbler on board. Over the course of a year, ReBirk came into existence and repaired and cleaned over 2000+ pairs.

A new direction

In September 2024, a culmination of fresh ideas and years of experience brought Praveen to a new realisation; there existed a greater need for bringing back to life a once great piece of product. People cherished being resourceful themselves and wanted to upkeep their belongings, especially the Birkenstocks they wear everyday. An actual proper product to renew Birkentstocks was needed and so began a new journey for ReBirk.

From the humble beginnings of a request of a family member to restore their beloved sandles to a small team from Bangalore dedicating their cause to finding ways to preserve our beloved Brikenstocks, ReBirk has you covered for all your needs.
