At Rebirk, we've curated the highest quality soles and restoration products for your Birkenstocks. Every product we offer has been rigorously tested through our hands-on experience repairing and restoring over 2,000 pairs of sandals. 

Our Story

I'm the Praveen Yadav, founder of Rebirk, and this journey started in the most unexpected way.

How It All Began

I've always loved working with leather—it was a hobby that stuck, and over time, I'd accumulated quite a collection of tools. One day, I walked into a Birkenstock store and suddenly realized these sandals could help with my chronic foot pain (plantar fasciitis). I bought a pair, and soon my sister and wife each got their own too.

These Birkenstocks quickly grew on me. I wore them everywhere—outside, then inside the house. But within 4 to 5 months, the sole started wearing down from the heel. I thought, why not put my leather-working hobby to use? I resoled my own pair, and it turned out great.

A WhatsApp Status Changed Everything

I posted a status update about my DIY resole project, and suddenly I became the go-to cobbler for friends and family. Eventually, I decided to start charging for materials and services. That's how I went from frontend developer to Birkenstock cobbler.

During this time, I learned everything about sole materials, adhesives, and restoration techniques. As more people kept sending their worn-out Birkenstocks, I put up a website and even hired a cobbler to help with the growing demand.

The Pivot

After a year of running the repair service, I realized something important: the service business was consuming too much time without sustainable returns. In September 2024, I made the difficult decision to close the repair shop. By then, we'd repaired and cleaned over 2,000 pairs and earned a solid reputation on Google Maps and Reddit.

But I still had supplies taking up space in our small 2 BHK apartment, and repair requests kept coming in. That's when I started offering restoration products to customers. One product I formulated started selling particularly well, and I realized this was the path forward.

Rebirk Today

Now, Rebirk focuses on developing and selling restoration products for Birkenstock lovers. It's much more manageable—I've outsourced most ecommerce operations so I can focus on product development and business growth. My wife helped tremendously in the beginning, and I now have an awesome staff of two people who keep everything running smoothly.

What started as a hobby to fix my own sandals has become a business helping thousands of Birkenstock owners extend the life of their favorite footwear. Thank you for being part of this journey!
